Creating A Monster

My mom and I wanted to get pedicures but we had no one to watch the kids. We brought them with and decided it was time that Callie gets her own. I have painted her toe nails since she was a baby but this was her first Vietnamese pedicure. She is such a big girl! She took her time selecting the perfect color. Cade did not have fun. I think he felt left out.
"Ok Gama, Dis is Tallie's little chair, I paint toes"
She would not sit still for anything and was dissapointed she didn't get to put her feet in the water. But she was very interested in what the girl was doing and kept rubbing her head telling her she had pretty hair. It was probably a little too early for this but it was a fun experience.

The finished product only looked like this for 5 min. and she couldn't help herself, she had to touch them. And of course this place was next to Target and she wouldn't let us go home until we went to Target first. She tells Target "bye target, love you." I have no idea where she gets this.

Cade's Therapy

Or as Callie says "Tade Terapy." This amazing therapy facility recently just opened and it is only 5 min. from our house. I wish they would have had it four years ago! Cade goes 5 times a week for an hour each session. He goes to PT, OT, and Speech. He loved it at first and would get really excited. Recently, he has started to cry through the whole 2 hours he is there. When we drive by the building he starts to whine. He does great with them when they are playing but when they make him do things, he starts into his crying complete with big crocodile tears. It really is sad and I was tempted to cut back at first but this past week he did great. I think he just needs to be pushed a little bit and he has been spoiled by us thinking he can't do things when really he just doesn't want to. It's a hard schedule for us to keep and it isn't easy sitting in that tiny cramped waiting room for so long but it is so good for him. Callie goes sometimes and the therapist use her to get Cade to do things. He will be refusing to do a task and they come and get Callie, she does it, and he copies her. It's pretty cute. But then she starts into "IT'S MY TURN TADE!" and we have to go back into the waiting room. This was Miss Amy's last day and Cade really liked her.

Congrats Blaine and Meghan!!!

Cade and Callie have a new aunt! Blaine and Meghan were married in Las Vegas last weekend. I am so happy for them and especially for Blaine. It has been interesting watching Blaine figure out his life these last 8 years that I have known him and everything seems to have worked out perfectly. Ya'll are a beautiful couple and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Waiting For The Boom Boom

Memaw and Papa came to NB with Baylee, Jordan and Daddy to watch the fireworks. We got out there early to scope out the special spot and the kids loved running and rolling around on the golf course.

Officer, Whatever It Was, We Didn't Do It!

My favorite bike cop in NB, Mr. Michael Seibert. It's good to know people in high places (except he can't get you out of a ticket, I've tried, twice, no dice. All I get from him is "Anna, slow down") Cade was very interested in his bike
And now everytime she sees a police officer she says "hi mital"

Boom Boom Time! Happy Independence Day!

Michael showed us the absolute best spot to sit several years ago. He is learning sign language but I'm fairly sure he wasn't meaning to flip me off...
Daniel you may be pitching on our TV but Cade is cuddling up to your wife. You better watch out!

Callie loves playing with the big girls because she thinks she is one.

It was so fun to watch them watch the fireworks. Holidays are so much more enjoyable for me now as I watch the kids discover them.

Thank God For Sisters

When Shane and I found out we were going to have Callie, we were so unprepared. We had so much on our plate with Cade and we couldn't imagine how we would fit another little one in our lives. I believe this is why you have nine months to figure all this out because by the time she showed us her little face, we were so ready for her. But little did we know that God had planned for her to be such an amazing sister to Cade and he knew she was just what we needed. I love watching her face light up when she sees him and vise versa. She can't get enough hugs and kisses from him. She is the first one to scold him when he does wrong and she does her best to keep him out of trouble. We catch her putting him in time out quite often. She helps the therapist get Cade to complete his tasks at therapy. She feeds him part of her snack, helps give him his water in his tube, she washes him in the bath tub, and she always reports the second he pulls out his feeding tube and brings it to us immediately. She is always looking out for him and it just warms my heart and makes me thank God everyday that Cade has Callie and Callie has Cade."Tade tirsty mama."
And on that note, I also thank God everyday for my sister and for my TWO wonderful sister-in-laws. I don't know how we would have made it through all we have without each others support. I love ya'll!

River Rats

What's an independence day without a little river time? We went with Sarah to the River Forest park in her parent's subdivision to do some people watching and get some sun. And here Callie is telling someone, on what she referred to as her phone, that shes got the keys and shes ready to go bye bye.
Of course Cade loved it! He did his turtle thing where he scoots backward into the river. We had a heck of a time keeping him from floating away with the tubers.

Snack Time- Callie's favorite part. We had to keep getting out to get her more cookies (tooties).

The Future Mrs. Blaine Akin

I have had so much fun getting to know Meghan and the more I am around her, the more I am convinced she is perfect for Blaine. We did a little celebrating before they left for Vegas. I am only posting a pic from early in the night because the longer this night went on, the more I drank, the worse I looked.
And here is a pic from her shower...
Sorry about the picture quality. I stole these from facebook.

Moo Moo Pop

This is Callie's absolute favorite book.We read it every night. In fact we read it so much I have it memorized. And Callie knows I have it memorized so she asks for it all day. I tell it to her in the car, while we make dinner, while she sits on the potty... literally all the time. She is starting to memorize it too. Cade listens intently so I know it is his favorite too.
night night Tade.

Fillin in For Grandpa

The kids sat on the mower all day begging for a ride. Grandpa is in Iowa but I told them Ty Ty would give them a ride after work. And don't you know that was the first thing Callie told Tyler he needed to do.Don't let him fool you, he loved it.

Playing with Shana and Sarah

Who needs babynastics? Sarah can teach Callie anything she needs to know. Oh and she's Dr. McCutchen now, that's going to take some getting used to! Congrats Sarah!
Cuddling with Shana

Ty-Ty's Pool

We lucked out today at the city pool. The threat of rain was enough to keep everyone away this holiday weekend but it didn't rain! We had the whole kiddie pool to ourselves!
My kids get pushy on the slide so it was good they were only pushing each other!
Callie's butt must smell
I love the Landa Park spring fed pool- We spent a lot of time here growing up and I worked here in high school. And Tyler is the manager so we get in free...
I took the kids to explore the springs today. It is still being put back together after the flood. We saw where it starts...
and where it ends. Callie liked it and thought it was "really told (cold)!"
