The Plane Ride Home

The plane ride home was twice as long as it was supposed to be due to weather. The kids drove us and everyone else on the plane crazy. When we finally made it home, we were pretty wore out.

Cade's First Haircut From Cousin Jess

We cut off the curls because they were shaggy and uneven. Jess fixed him right up and now he looks like a handsome little boy. Her new shop is gorgeous by the way.

Fun With Cousins

These are Cade's cousins Natalie, Aspen, and Abby- they loved playing with the kids

First Plane Ride

We took the kids to Iowa to visit my family and Cade and Rachel did surprisingly good on their first plane ride. They enjoyed it and played together most of the time. Cade got to ride on Grandpa's lap.

Cade's Eating Problems

These pictures are off of Shane's cell phone so they aren't very good. For those of you that keep asking me "when will he get his feeding tube out?", I have some information for you. Cade had a swallow study today which is done by adding barium to his food and drink and watch on X-ray (fluoroscopy) and we can see where it goes. He has an abnormal soft palate which does not close off the back of his throat. It causes food to go up through his nose and gives him an uncoordinated swallow. Also he will not be able to make certain speech sounds, especially B, M, or P. He aspirates trace amounts of every thickness of food and drink. The doctors recommended that he only have solids and not liquids and we keep practicing. He is doing a great job with table food and has been eating much more and progressing. However as long as his palate is the way it is, he will always have trouble eating. We need to talk to the surgeon about our options for his palate and hopefully will be able to operate soon. Even with surgical intervention, his palate may never work correctly. We can only hope that they can fix it and he won't need his feeding tube forever. We will keep you updated.

The Pic Rachel and Cade Gave Grandpa for Fathers Day

Cade's First Watermelon Jubilee

Cade missed the Jubilee last year cause he was in the PICU so we were excited to take him this year. He only got to go to the party on Saturday and stayed with his GG and grandparents so we could go to the concerts. He had lots of fun visiting with his Stockdale family and friends.

He loved swimming with Grandma

Cade Taught Rachel How Much Fun it is to Lounge Around In Your Diaper

Swimming in Rachel's Grandparent's Pool

We take the kids swimming as often as possible at Amy's in-laws. Shane won't let me put him in this little jumpsuit anymore. I think he looks cute. Rachel is a little fish and she would swim laps if we would let her. Cade is a little more cautious... Swimming is hard work!
