Pray for Rachel

My niece was not herself this Christmas. She pretty much cried the entire time and there was no pleasing her. Finally Amy and Michael took her to the hospital and they discovered that her shunt was malfunctioning (she was diagnosed with hydrocephalus in October). After running a few additional tests, they discovered a tumor in her spine and several tumor cells in her brain. This is what is causing the hydrocephalus and the cancer seems pretty extensive. We don't know a whole lot yet but after meeting with the Oncologist today, they have learned that she has several options for chemo and the doctor seemed optimistic. She had surgery today to repair the shunt and provide relief to her brain so hopefully she will be feeling much better tomorrow. She will be biopsied monday to learn what type of cancer this is and which way to go with treatment. As you can imagine, this has devastated my family but we are taking it one day at a time. She is a little fighter and we know she will come through this but we need every prayer we can get.
