Baby Akin #3

When Shane and I discussed our future family, we both knew we wanted several children. Then we had Cade and our one child required the attention (and money!) of several children. When I tell people about our experience with Cade, they often ask the rude and thoughtless question "And you had another one?" But I think the best gift my parents ever gave me was my three siblings. If Cade and Rachel have taught us anything, it's that babies are a blessing no matter what and a healthy one is just icing on the cake.
We hesitantly decided our lives weren't quite crazy enough and we needed to add another kid to our family. This little one will bless us with his/her presence in May 2012. At first, Callie didn't believe me. She has been trying to tell me that I am pregnant for the last year and I assured her several times that I wasn't. Then when I told her that I was and I didn't have a huge belly she said "No you're not!" She finally accepted the pregnancy but she only refers to the baby as a "she" and she is telling everyone she is getting a sister (because she already has a brother.) She is very excited about being a big sister. Cade doesn't quite understand what is happening but he loves babies so I can't wait to see what he thinks when this baby gets here. This is baby Akin at 8 weeks along. How can this tiny little thing make his/her mommy so tired???

Waiting For Baby Azlynn!

Azlynn Claire Akin was born on Sept 22nd, 2011. We were all excited for Meghan that her difficult pregnancy was finally ending but even more so to see our beautiful niece.proud daddyWaiting to hear...Poor baby Azlynn had a little trouble at first so we had to wait a little longer to hold her. She proved to be a tough little girl and got better quickly.Don't Blaine and Meghan make adorable babies???

Port Aransas Family Vaca.

I've known the Zunker family for a very long time because Reece and Tyler were best friends since they were little. I am lucky that I get to work with Reece's sister-in-law Jennifer and have gotten to know her there. Jen has kids about the same age as mine, Ryan and Mackenzey. One boring day at work, we decided our families were long overdue for a beach trip so we booked one. We had so much fun on our weekend in Port Aransas and our kids were in heaven playing on the beach all day. Callie loved everything Mac had, especially these goggles. She came home with them in her suitcase...Never too early for margaritas when you are on vacation.Reece, Tyler, Sunnye and some friends came too.
We did our best to keep Cade from flinging his feeding tube into the ocean.
